Katherine blindsided by love.

In the play Taming of the Shrew it showed a theme of how love makes a cold hearted woman change the way she acts. In taming of the shrew Katherine was self-absorbed she was a very rebellious woman towards men. But later one she is so called tamed to a man by how the trickery of love and how Petruchio put it into play. First Katherine acted as if men caused her pain, “What, will you not suffer with me? Nay, now I see she is your treasure, she must have a husband; I must dance barefoot on her wedding day. And, for your love to her, lead apes in hell.”(pg .37, line 30) She had no intention of being in love or being with a man because of how she acted dominant. Later on in the story she is fooled or tricked by a man who does not really love her but loves the money. The man’s mission was to tame her so make her less of a dominant female and make her submit to him. To make Bianca to have a suitor. Near the end Katherine drastically changes because of how she is blindsided by love. “Thy husband is thy lord,thy life,thy keeper,thy head thy sovereign.”(pg.108, line 140) The love from petruchio and how petruchio was able to become the dominant one changed Katherine. So the theme of the story is how Katherine can become blindsided by love.
