Women's Statuses

Antigone and Ismene are very different women in the way that they uphold their "status".  Ismene is acts more womenish in the society.  She stays at home more and obeys the laws set by men.  Antigone, on the other hand, is less womenish in her actions.  She doesn't listen really to any of the laws set for her to follow.  In the other book we have read, Anthem and The Hunger Games, I think the women in those books follow more in Anitgone's steps rather than Ismene's.  They follow more in the men's stereotypes in the way that they do listen as much to the rules as they should.  -Sarah Irvin
