Who acts more like a stereotypical woman?

Antigone subverts her role as a typical woman by burying her brother and stepping out of line and being as bold as to stand up for what she believes is right. Ismene, on the other hand, upholds her role as a typical woman by not helping her sister in any way and saying that the man’s word is right. The female character that appears in Anthem is the Golden One. She is a strong women because she denied her society to go find what she believes in which is her one true love Equality. The main females that appear in The Hunger Games are Katniss, Prim, and there mother. Katniss is a strong independent fiery woman who defies her government and starts a rebellion. Prim is stronger than her mother but much weaker that Katniss in the aspect that she cannot or ever would be able to survive by herself but she is able to maintain composure most of the time. Their mother wouldn’t be able to survive without Katniss. She is totally devastated and lost at the death of her husband and this forces Katniss to become both the mom and the dad in the family. The novels that we have read so far do not portray the main character women in their stereotypical gender roles. But most of the background characters follow the roles they are supposed to.

  1. I agree with Saphyre when she says that Ismene is a typical woman because even though she somewhat was in the problem with Antigone, she didn't exactly committ the actual law/rule breaking process. -Jacky Vergil
