More Antigone Responses

A.     A tragic hero is a character of great significance that is destined for defeat in a tragedy. This character is usually the protagonist, but not always.
B.     I predict that Antigone will be about the daughter of Oedipus and something great that she does. It might be about her whole life story, but I think that she will discover the past of her mother and father and maybe even rebel.

Tragic hero is a hero that no matter what is doomed for a downfall, suffering, or defeat in the end.
Oedipus Rex is a classic tragic hero. Based on the Oedipus Rex performances I believe that Antigone would be about Oedipus finding out who he really is.

At dictionary.com a tragic hero is described as a character that makes a judgment error that due to fate and outside forces ends in tragedy. Often a character of nobility or authority, this character’s folly is often amplified by their fall from power. Aristotle uses the word Hamartia, which is the flaw leading to the character’s downfall, to describe the actual event that causes the character to err. With the background knowledge that Antigone is Oedipus’s daughter I have some intuition to believe that Antigone will be affected by Oedipus’s choices. In Greek mythology it is a popular motif to see children affected by the errors of their parents or vice versa (example: Cronus and Zeus). Antigone may suffer a similar fate to Oedipus with whatever living relatives she has.

   A tragic hero is a character who is destined to cause for anything that is tragic. Like death, or suffering from that death, or injury. Based on the Oedipus Rex, Antigone will basically end up with another tragic ending, like maybe someone wants to get revenge on them because of the death of King Laius. That someone would still want to get back, that person who killed their king, but now they will end up killing their family. It’s possible that someone would still want to get back at the family who killed their king, because the society is against them.

A.)  Definitionof a tragic hero: A tragic hero is a hero that is destined to suffer or to bedefeated or to downfall.
B.)  Accordingto our Oedipus Rex plays Antigone will be a very tragic and intertwined story.With many twists and deaths. Oedipus may end up as a tragic hero in his owntwisted life and he may very well regret everything he does. Oedipus will bethe tragic hero that defines his story.

A “tragic hero” is a protagonist fated for an untimely and tragic death, defeat, etc. My prediction for Antigone is that Antigone, the daughter of Oedipus Rex, will stray from her past life; in hopes of forgetting all the tragedies that occurred, but in order to do this she must flee from her lavish life in Thebes. Judging from the fact that she has lived her entire life as royalty she would not do well by herself for long, so she will seek out help from old family friends, or family in general.

A tragic hero to me is when a person is suffering from tragedy that leaves them destined for downfall or defeat.
I think that Antigone is going to be very depressed because her parents suffer. I also think that she has anger deep inside her because she witnessed her mother hang herself. And she witnessed her dad Oedipus getting exiled from the town. So she is all alone with her her sister without parents to guide them in the right way.

2b) In Antigone, I predict there will be a character similar to Oedipus who seems like the protagonist. This character will help others probably until fate has to decide the rest of way. After this there will be the downfall of the character maybe until death. There might be others who have to suffer for this protagonist to survive but eventually the protagonist dies.

A)  A tragic hero is a character that makes a bad judgment or has something bad about them that when it is mixed with fate, something tragic happens. 

      B)  Based on the performances of Oedipus Rex, I think that Antigone will become the queen since her mother hangs herself. I also think that she will eventually find out what happens with her parents. I am also assuming that she wants to find her parents.

I have found that a tragic hero is someone who is born and designed to be defeated and destroyed. Oedipus is a tragic hero, when he was younger he was informed of his fate and how his life would play on. I think Antigone’s father he story will be similar to hers. I think that her fate will be tragic and short with many twist of  so she can become a tragic hero as well.

                Tragic Hero- A tragic hero is a character within a book who is supposed to have a tragedy. Also to have a down fall or to suffer within the book.

                Based on Oedipus I think that Antigone is going to be about a girl who is going to have a downfall, in the end she might suffer to whatever tragedy comes her way. Based Oedipus what might happen is that she might end up like her father Oedipus and how he became blind and she may be a tragic hero in the book since her father Oedipus was a tragic hero and she might end up with the same destiny but could end worse for her.

   Tragichero- A tragic hero is someone who suffers deep problems due to an error in judgment.This error is made by the main hero, and is usually caused by a massive mistakeof the protagonist, but not by a purposeful mistake.

Based on what happened to OedipusRex, it is easy to guess that Antigone will not be treated very fairly, andwill be disrespected by the king who was crowned by Oedipus. It is alsopossible that Antigone could also make the many mistakes made by him becauseshe will be raised by the same mother, but the mother might not tell her aboutwhat happened to her father. It is also possible that Antigone could meetOedipus because it never pronounced him as dead; furthermore, it could causeher to learn about her past and cause conflict.  -Blake

A tragic hero is someone who is considered perfect except for a tragic flaw that eventually brings him down in the end.

Based on the Oedipus Rex performances, I think Antigone will become queen and with that responsibility, she will eventually find out what happened to her parents. I also think that there will be another epidemic, like the plague, that Antigone is going to have to fix.

Tragic hero- a character who makes false judgment or has a fatal flaw that when mixed with their fate and other outside factors brings on a tragic event.

The book Antigone is going to be about Oedipus Rex, the former king and his life story after he popped his eyes out. I believe he is going to find a girl he really enjoys in his life and he figures out that he is related to her and then, he will never let himself love anybody and become Hades. -Alonzo

I think that Antigone is about the daughter of Oedipus, and she faces a similar fate to her father you finds a quest she has to go on, but learns about something tragic and either dies or is banished.  -Sarah
