Antigone Predictions

9/10/12
A tragic hero is the main character in a tragedy who is destined for downfall, suffering, or defeat.
I think Antigone will end up being killed or hurt in some way for standing up for what she believes is right.

A. Tragic Hero: Noun, a great, powerful character who is predestined to be in suffering, defeat, sorrow, loss, etc. –Ji Lim
B. In the book Antigone, just like Oedipus Rex, there will be a prosperous king, or queen in which is very influential to the village or kingdom, but later through the story, a tragic situation will cause the main or protagonist to fall into suffering and loss.

  1. Tragic Hero: A virtuous person in a tragic film or play who is in the end will be defeated
In the book Antigone I am assuming that Oedipus Rex will end up killing a man who ends up being his own father. Unknowingly he will also marry his mother and find her dead from suicide and will live the rest of his life in sadness and despair.

tragic hero means  virtuouscharacter in a tragedy who is destined for suffering or defeat
In Antigone, I think that it is going to be aboutOedius found his mom or some other “god” found his mom or found out that he/shewas married to a family member. Possibly a girl wanted to find his mom and or dad.       –JackyVergil

tragic hero is the protagonist of a tragedy or a drama.
I think Antigone’s story is going to be very similar toOedipus Rex and have some sort of tragedy in her life and result in her or another person's death.

Assignment 9-10-12
A.     Definition of Tragic Hero: A great character/individualwhose downfall is meant to happen and there is no way of avoiding it.
B.     I think that in Antigone, there will be a personin a leadership position who is faced with some issue that is inevitable.Because of the fact that the conflict is inevitable, perhaps the ending will betragic, much like it was in Oedipus Rex.
Matison Music

Tragic Hero:The protagonist of a tragedy; a hero that has one major flaw, and a hero thatthe audience has compassion for.
Based on my reading andthe class performances on the play OedipusRex (Oedipus the King), I believe that the play Antigone will be the experiences of the daughter of Oedipus,Antigone, after his exile for killing his father and sleeping with his mother.  I believe this because at the end of Oedipus Rex, the writer Aristotle madehints at Oedipus’s daughters Antigone and Ismene.  Also, he mentioned them without revealingtheir backgrounds or reactions to their father’s exile, which could be reservedfor another book.
