Kind and studious >rude and selfish

One theme explored from The Taming of the Shrew is that men are attracted to girls who treat them kindly and are studious rather than a selfish, vain girl who is insulting. When Grumio, Lucentio, and Tranio heard of the beautiful and kind Bianca, all the men fell in love immediately even without seeing the girl. Only though, no one could marry Bianca until her older sister, Kate, was married.  Kate was described as vain and untamed; very despicable to the men.  Men prefer a girl who cares and is kind and girls who exhibit those qualities are more likely to marry sooner than a girl who is selfish and rude. The Taming of The Shrew shows that even with money that men don’t care for a rude girl. In the Hunger Games, Peeta was attracted to Katniss partially because she was very caring. Katniss had fight in her but she only exhibited that when was needed like fighting for her life. Katniss cared for others as she took care of her sister after her dad died and volunteered for her sister when Prim was chosen.  Men are more likely to marry a girl who is caring rather than a rude girl as conveyed in Taming of the Shrew.
