All just because of Forgetting a Story

The central tension of the poem "The Story" sets the stage as the dad only makes a small mistake of forgetting a story so he can tell his son but ends up causing a bigger dilema. Irony takes place in this poem. "Don't go! Hear the Alligator story! The Angel Story once more!" Ironic why does the dad think of the boy leaving rather than something else. The dad could be thinking of something to say before the boy leaves in other words the dad is trying not to take as long so he can tell his son something before he leaves, or goes to sleep. Flashforward happened as well when the dad was thinking of his son leaving. Even though though there was a scarful moment for the dad it added to be alright for everyone. "Which posits that a boy's supplications and a father's love add up to silence."-Jacky Vergil
