The Dukes Thought Of Art #1
Well as you can tell the duke was not a very nice person in my opinion. His thought of art is very high class. He only wants the finer things in life. When he has a choice of things he wants the high class things and since he is a duke he can have, what some would say better things. From my understanding also he likes a deeper mean to his art. With the painting of his wife he was looking for something deeper than just what is on the surface. The way he talks about this painting I almost think it could be the Mona Lisa, very weird to me but many people like this type of art. I really think that the duke would like the Mona Lisa and the way it was painted. Also he sees his role in that work as it was his entire fault he did everything other than really paint it. He thinks very highly of himself and feeds himself lies to make him feel better and that’s what he did with this.

I agree with you, and I don't think it is wierd that you see a resemblance to the Mona Lisa because the Duchess seemed like the perfect woman in many ways, and being described as very happy all the time.
