Antigone's
Pride
"Like a bird coming
back to an empty nest, peering into its bed and all the babies gone..."
(Lines 471-472). I think that Creon think that Antigone is with Polynices as a
bird would have done with her babies. This quote reveals that Antigone would
protect anybody no matter what as long as they are important to her. A theme in
this book would be pride. Antigone and even Ismene had at least some pride for
doing part of burying Polynices.
-Jacky Vergil
I didn't really think of a theme of the book as pride, but I do now. Thanks for helping me see it in a different way!
