Ashley Christopherson
All alone in this crowded room.
My eyes meet one…another.
They do not see me for what I am.
They see the smile on my face;
The lies that I’m holding, in order to keep myself together.
They do not know the pain I feel.
Their smile is real.
So I am alone in this crowded room;
Waiting for someone to see through;
To save me from myself from the loneliness...
that has overcome me;
controlled me.
I am a slave to this feeling;
Waiting for something better,
Suffering in myself,
Needing a savior.
My eyes meet one…another.
They do not see me for what I am.
They see the smile on my face;
The lies that I’m holding, in order to keep myself together.
They do not know the pain I feel.
Their smile is real.
So I am alone in this crowded room;
Waiting for someone to see through;
To save me from myself from the loneliness...
that has overcome me;
controlled me.
I am a slave to this feeling;
Waiting for something better,
Suffering in myself,
Needing a savior.
I like this poem because so many people feel like this and I know I have. When people read this they should feel that they aren't alone in the world, that there are others that feel like they do.

I agree with you Sarah. Most people do feel like that especially when they are now in High school.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your views on this poem. It may be depressing, but its a harsh reality.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty depressing, but it's easy to see that even though you can feel like that, you're never alone and on your own in the world.

I agree withBlake. It is very depressing and you can definetly see the deepth meant be the poem.
ReplyDeleteThis poem has a lot of power even though it's very short. The moral probably has a very strong effect on some because I'm sure that people feel shut out of the world from loneliness.
